iPowerWeb facility
|
Location
IPOWERWEB's Internet Data Centers are strategically located on AT&Ts,
Global Crossing and Cable & Wireless' OC48 / OC192 Global IP backbones.
These locations, together with the extensive public and private peering
arrangements, are designed to maximize the customer's Internet reach,
bandwidth capacity and to optimize performance.
To ensure that customer's datas security, iPowerWeb facilities are
staffed 24 hours a day with on-site guards and equipped with both interior
and exterior closed circuit television.
Servers
iPowerWeb uses the best servers in the industry, they are extremely fast
and reliable. We conducted some pings on 5 different sites hosted by iPowerWeb.
We compared the ping time to globat and lunarpages servers and the response
times were upto 40% faster in some cases.
iPowerWeb uses industry leading equipment like Dell PowerEdge and
HP ProLiant Servers, Cisco Firewalls and Routers and premium
bandwidth through their partnership with AT&T and Cable & Wireless.
They have two world-class quality Tier 1 Internet Data Centers which are
optimized to provide an industry-leading web, data, and applications hosting
environment. These centers are designed to stay up and running, protected
from power failure, physical intrusion and network outages by extensive
back-up power and cooling systems, multi-layered security, and network
redundancy and diversity. iPowerWeb Data Centers are connected to the
Internet using the highest performing OC48/OC192 IP backbone available.
Backup
To ensure that all iPowerWeb servers, monitoring equipment, and infrastructure
are fully protected during a power failure, iPowerWeb's Internet Data
Centers are equipped with redundant dual AC and DC power feeds with multiple
backup systems. This includes generators to support the Internet Data
Centers in the case of utility power failure. These generators support
all Center infrastructure including: UPS, PDUs, connectivity, security,
air conditioning, chillers, pumps, fire suppression, and life safety equipment.
The stand-by diesel generators are provided at N+1 capacity for redundancy
and have with a three-day fuel capacity stored on site. Fuel vendors are
under contract to "stand-by" in the event of an extended outage.
To guard against power loss, IPOWERWEB has incorporated dedicated emergency
power systems into every Internet Data Center. For further protection,
they ve instituted a minimum of N+1 electrical infrastructure for
support of systems operations, including Uninterruptible Power Supply
(UPS) and Power Distribution Units (PDUs).
Climate
Redundant cooling, heating and humidity controls keep iPowerWeb servers
in an optimum operating environment.
Fire Suppression
System
IPOWERWEB Internet Data Centers are equipped with fully redundant fire
detection and suppression systems. These include the VESDA advanced fire
detection system 100 times more sensitive than conventional fire
detection systems, an additional cross-zoned fire detection system, and
either the ozone-safe Inergen "clean agent" fire suppression
system, or pre-action (dry type) sprinkler systems.
